Is there a free trial?
Yes! Digit Tally offers a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required to start.
What happens after the trial?
After 14 days, choose a paid plan to continue:
- Starter - For small businesses
- Business - For growing companies
- Enterprise - For larger organizations
Your data is preserved when you upgrade.
Do I need accounting knowledge?
No! Digit Tally is designed for business owners without accounting background. The system automatically handles:
- Journal entries
- Account classifications
- Tax calculations
- Financial reports
However, we recommend consulting an accountant for year-end and tax filing.
Invoicing
How do I create an invoice?
- Go to Sales App (

- Select customer
- Add items/services
- Review and send

How do I send invoices to customers?

Can I invoice in foreign currency?
Currently, NGN (Naira) is the primary currency. Multi-currency invoicing is on our roadmap for future releases.
What about VAT on invoices?
Digit Tally automatically calculates 7.5% VAT (Nigeria's standard rate). You can:
- Include or exclude VAT
- Mark items as VAT-exempt
- Adjust VAT rates if needed
Note: Only charge VAT if your business is VAT-registered with FIRS.
Payments and Receipts
How do I record payments?
- Open the paid invoice
- Click Record Payment
- Enter payment details (date, method, reference)
- Click Save
- Optionally generate receipt
Does Digit Tally accept online payments?
Currently, Digit Tally helps you track payments but doesn't process them directly. Payment gateway integration (Paystack, Flutterwave) is coming soon.
For now, record payments received via:
- Bank transfer
- Cash
- Card (POS)
- Mobile money
Can I accept partial payments?
Yes! You can record partial payments and track remaining balance. Each partial payment can have its own receipt.
Example:
- Invoice: NGN 100,000
- Payment 1: NGN 40,000 (Receipt REC-001)
- Payment 2: NGN 60,000 (Receipt REC-002)
- Balance: NGN 0 (Paid in full)
Customers and Suppliers
How many customers can I add?
Unlimited! Add as many customers and suppliers as your business needs. All plans include unlimited contacts.
Can I import existing customer data?
Yes! Use the Excel/CSV import feature:
- Download template
- Fill with customer data
- Upload completed file
- Review and import

How do I manage customer credit limits?
Set credit limits per customer:
- Edit customer
- Set Credit Limit field (e.g., NGN 5,000,000)
- System warns when creating invoices that exceed limit
- Helps manage credit risk

Recommended: Monthly
Bank reconciliation ensures:
- All transactions recorded

Can my accountant access Digit Tally?
Yes! Invite your accountant as a team member:
- Settings > Team Management
- Click Invite Member
- Enter accountant's email
- Assign "Accountant" role
- They can view reports and data
Payroll and PAYE
Does Digit Tally calculate PAYE correctly?
Yes! The system uses current Nigerian PAYE tax tables and automatically calculates:
- Consolidated Relief Allowance (CRA)
- Taxable income
- PAYE deductions
- Net pay

Can I generate payslips for multiple employees?
Yes! Use bulk payslip generation:
- Select pay period
- Choose employees (or select all)
- Generate all payslips at once
- Email to all employees automatically
What about pension and NHF?
Digit Tally calculates:
- Pension (8%) - Employee contribution
- NHF (2.5%) - National Housing Fund contribution
These are automatically deducted from gross pay.
Workspaces
What is a workspace?
A workspace is a separate business entity within your account. Each workspace has:
- Independent customers and suppliers
- Separate financial data
- Unique invoicing sequences
- Individual team members

How many workspaces can I have?
Depends on your plan:
- Free/Starter: 1 workspace
- Business: Up to 3 workspaces
- Enterprise: Unlimited workspaces
Can I switch between workspaces easily?
Yes! Use the workspace selector at the top of any page. All apps automatically update to show the selected workspace's data.

Is my data secure?
Yes! Security measures include:

Manual Export:
- Export data anytime from Settings > Data Export

Troubleshooting
I forgot my password. What do I do?
- Go to login page
- Click Forgot Password
- Enter your email

I can't login. What's wrong?

- 2FA code issues
